Girlfriend GPT

Girlfriend GPT is the odd one out in my top five. Candy, JOI, Ourdream and Kupid are companion apps: you build or pick one character and the product is the relationship. Girlfriend GPT is a community platform. The library is tens of thousands of user-made bots, filterable by tags like Femdom, Monster Girl, Yandere, Breeding and Tsundere, and the product is the browsing as much as the chatting. If that sounds like SpicyChat, it should. The same Montreal company, NextDay AI, runs both, and Girlfriend GPT is best understood as SpicyChat with in-chat images, voice and short video bolted on, sold under a companion-shaped name.

This is a full rewrite of my earlier review, which said pricing was “hidden behind login”, that there was “no clear public information on refund policy”, that the privacy policy was “accessible only after login”, and that the memory was “strong”. None of that survived contact with the site. The pricing is public and three independent testers agree on it to the dollar, the Terms have a refund section and a cancellation section, the Privacy Notice is a click from the footer, and the memory is a tier-capped context window that the platform states in tokens. I also need to explain the domain, because the address in my listing is not the site. I went through 65 Reddit posts and 395 comments that named GirlfriendGPT or GPTGirlfriend, plus the product threads I already had. Girlfriend GPT holds at 9.1, fifth place, on the strength of its library and its unusual transparency about models and context, and despite a chat engine that the people who’ve paid for the top tier say is the weakest of its peers.

TL;DR verdict

Girlfriend GPT is the right pick if you want variety. Thousands of scenarios you didn’t write, a Top Creators board, a Discord, and a chat settings panel that lets you pick your model, set a Sexiness slider, choose a voice and a video model, and see exactly how much context your tier buys you. On annual Premium at $12 a month it’s the cheapest way in my top five to get NSFW text plus a few images.

It is the wrong pick if you want one girlfriend who feels real. A user who bought the most expensive tier on five platforms called the writing here “clearly inferior” to Ourdream and SpicyChat, with “that fake sounding LLM-ness” and flowery filler. The interface is the oldest and jankiest of the group, images won’t hold a face, and the coin meter on images and voice turns $15 into $25-50 for anyone who uses them. Start on the free tier to browse, then go annual Premium or Deluxe if the library hooks you: try Girlfriend GPT here. Don’t buy Elite for the memory until you’ve read the section on context windows.

The numbers nobody else will show you

First, the domain. The address in my listing, girlfriendgpt.online, returns a 301 redirect to www.gptgirlfriend.online. So does girlfriendgpt.com. The real brand site has the two words in the other order, and I checked both redirects myself on September 15, 2026. Here’s what that means in Ahrefs:

• girlfriendgpt.online: Domain Rating 2.2, 362 referring domains (64 followed), zero organic visits in any month on record. An alias.
• girlfriendgpt.com: Domain Rating 27, zero organic visits. Another alias.
• gptgirlfriend.online: Domain Rating 71, 3,242 referring domains, and an estimated 109,000 organic Google visits in August 2026. This is the site, and every number below is for it.

I’ve kept girlfriendgpt.online as the listed domain because it’s the address people type and it works. But if you compare Girlfriend GPT to anything using the .online alias’s numbers, you’ll conclude nobody uses it, and that’s wrong. One more collision: girlfriendgpt.chat is a different “Erotic AI” site that showed up in a 2025 r/loneliness post. It is not this product. gptgirlfriend.org has been used as an image-editor landing page. Stick to gptgirlfriend.online, or type the alias and let it redirect.

Now the real numbers:

• 109,000 estimated organic visits in August 2026, against 171,000 in August 2025. A 36% year-on-year decline, the steepest in my top five.
• Peak 203,000 in July 2025. Trough 67,000 in November 2025, a two-thirds drop in four months, followed by a partial recovery through 2026.
• Domain Rating 71 on 3,242 referring domains. Solid, earned-looking, comparable to Ourdream’s 2,632 and Kupid’s 3,706.
• A caveat on all crawl-based data: gptgirlfriend.online’s robots.txt explicitly disallows AhrefsBot, along with the Internet Archive’s crawler, DataForSeoBot, MJ12bot and others. Ahrefs’ traffic estimates come from Google rankings, not from crawling the site, so they stand. But its page-level and on-site link data for this domain will be incomplete, and you can’t check old versions of the site on the Wayback Machine. That’s an unusual choice for a company that otherwise publishes its pricing openly.

My read: the July 2025 peak coincides with SpicyChat’s period of explosive growth, and the November 2025 trough with a Google update that hit a lot of adult AI sites. The recovery since is real but incomplete. This is a mature brand losing share to Ourdream and JOI, not a dying one.

Who this is for

You’re the target user if you’d rather browse than build. The single most consistent praise across Reddit is the library: “a huge collection of user made AI characters”, “over twenty five thousand characters and you can filter by tags like bisexual femdom or even monster girls”, “tons of scenarios you can choose from, I don’t think you will end up not having anything to do”. If your idea of a good evening is opening a scenario someone else wrote and seeing where it goes, this is the strongest library among the companion-branded apps.

You’re also a fit if you like fantasy over realism. A tester comparing the “most realistic” and “most fantasy” sites put it as “gptgirlfriend is best if you want to talk to a cosmic elf”, and the tag list on the homepage (Monster Girl, Furry, Alien, Succubus, Elf, VTuber, Robot, Myth, Folklore) backs that up. If you want a human girlfriend who texts you good morning, look at Ourdream. If you want a demon queen with a backstory written by a stranger, look here.

And you’re a fit if you want to know what you’re buying. Girlfriend GPT is the only app in my top five that tells you which chat model answers you and how many tokens of context your tier allows. Whether 4K, 8K and 16K are generous is a separate question (they aren’t, especially 4K), but the honesty is worth something when everyone else says “advanced memory” and leaves it there.

Who should skip this

Skip it if prose quality is what you care about. The most credible negative review I found came from someone who bought the top tier on Secrets AI, GirlfriendGPT, Candy, SpicyChat and Ourdream. His verdict on the writing: “compared to Our dreams and spicy chat, the LLM is clearly inferior. For example our dream LLM is more realistic in terms of how it describes behavior and actions, while GFGPT still has that fake sounding LLM-ness to its responses, especially if you crank up the detail/response length: you know the ‘she watches you with anticipation as the hour lingers’, you know those annoying flowery phrases?” Another user: “the actual conversations felt kinda botty. The ai would occasionally misinterpret what i said or go off on weird tangents.”

Skip it if you hate a cluttered screen. The same Elite buyer: “the UI for GFGPT is the worst compared to our dream and spicy chat; the flashing yellow thing that appears when you do each message (it is basically a flashy thing that does suggestion for your responses); the way that yellow thing fills out like 1/3 of my precious phone screen… the crazy stuttering the message does when the message is written out on my android phone/PC; the UI is undoubtedly the jankiest and oldest out of these 3.”

Skip it if you want your character to look the same twice. “Your girlfriend looks different in each picture.” “Pictures are extremely inconsistant… very annoying!” And a specific complaint I haven’t seen elsewhere: “for some reason you can’t use the phrases ‘dark skin’, ‘brown skin’, ‘African’ or ‘African American’” in the image generator. If that’s still true, it’s a real limitation for a lot of users and a strange one for a platform that advertises no filters.

Skip it if you don’t want a coin meter. Voice and images cost coins on top of the subscription, and the monthly allowance is smaller than it sounds. Details below.

What Reddit actually says

I went through 65 Reddit posts and 395 comments that named GirlfriendGPT, GPTGirlfriend or Girlfriend GPT, from 2023 through August 2026, across r/Chatbots, r/CharacterAIrevolution, r/AiGirlfriendSpace, r/SoulmateAI, r/gptgirlfriend, r/relationships_advice, r/aegosexuals, r/relationship_advice and a long tail of listicle subs. After throwing out the “top 10” posts that score everything 4.4 to 4.8, the DarLink reply farms, and the founder-promo threads, I had about 15 product threads and maybe 40 comments from people who had clearly paid or used it at length. Among those, the split is roughly one in four positive, one in four mixed, half negative, and it has got worse: 2024’s brand subreddit still has people happy on Deluxe; 2025-2026 is “mid”, “botty”, “wouldn’t try it again”, and, by August 2026, a four-year user leaving over bugs.

Consistent praise: the library and the tag system, the auto-memory summaries, the settings depth, and the price on annual billing. A long-term user in 2024: “for 15 dollars a month for the premium subscription I think it’s well worth it… I haven’t used an AI chatbot app/website this smart nor bang for your buck.” Another, a year in: “I am totally happy that I decided to subscribe for the deluxe subscription for a year.” The August 2026 leaver, who had been on it since roughly 2022, still opened with “i like the depth”. That is the product’s actual pitch, from people who stayed.

Consistent complaints: prose quality, the interface, image consistency, and the coin economy. May 2025 on r/Chatbots, the most-upvoted dedicated thread: “the actual conversations felt kinda botty. The ai would occasionally misinterpret what i said or go off on weird tangents also the pricing is expensive. the free version is super limited, and at the full one you’re looking at $35/month.” “$35/month for mid conversations is rough.” On repetition: “in SFW the narration is overly dramatic and in nsfw you’re constantly going to see ‘ruin me, breed me claim me’ even if the bot is supposed to be a naive girl who knows nothing.” A November 2025 r/Chatbots user stacking it against CrushOn: “girlfriendgpt, which it was good for a while, but I wouldn’t try it again.”

Operational complaints from the brand subreddit: coins not credited automatically (“I write a monthly ticket to get my coins cause that still not work automatically”), and one user who found himself paying both a monthly and a yearly Deluxe at the same time. Both from 2024, both may be fixed, both worth a glance at your statement.

Something that surprised me in 2025 and still stands: a user who subscribed to build a character from an uploaded photo, got an image “nowhere near alike”, asked for a refund and “got my money back, which is good.” That’s the only first-hand successful refund I’ve found for any app in my top five.

Something I had not weighted enough: partners finding the tab. In August 2025 a 33-year-old posted in r/relationships_advice that she had found a GPTGirlfriend subscription on her husband’s computer after 16 years together. In April 2025 on r/aegosexuals a wife asked why her husband was using “girlfriend gpt” to talk to “lots of different ‘characters’” when she was fine with porn. In February 2026 on r/relationship_advice a 25-year-old found “lile ChatGPTGirlfriend or something like that” on a shared iPad; a commenter noted “Having 46 different bots shows he’s been doing this for a while.” That is the community-library product doing exactly what it is built to do, and it is also why “GGPT” on a statement is not as discreet as it looks. A May 2024 r/NewsOfTheStupid thread about a US priest who spent more than $37,000 of church money on Candy Crush, GirlfriendGPT and other in-app purchases is the extreme end of the same meter. I am not treating news-of-the-stupid comments as product reviews. I am treating $37,000 as a reminder that coin packs plus a lonely user is how these businesses print money.

Astroturfing alert. Girlfriend GPT has an affiliate program (the footer says so), and it shows. “GirlfriendGPT - Best for sexting specifically. Zero filters, learns your style over time” is copy-pasted through r/CharacterAIrevolution “top 5” and “top 10” posts in 2025 and 2026, usually sitting under Candy. “My GirlfriendGPT review” in r/AIChatReviews (4.8/5) and “GirlfriendGPT Review - 9.5/10 rating” in r/CompanionGuide_ai both link to gptgirlfriend.online with the same affiliate code, ref=ztrhn2z. A 2023 r/SideProject post claiming “963 hours” and “50k users” is founder marketing. A “why GirlfriendGPT ended up being my go-to” post in r/SoulmateAI drew the reply: “This comes off as an ad, and the review you posted goes straight to the website not an independent review.” The tell is a review with no complaints and a link with a ref parameter. In the May 2025 “it was mid” thread, a cheapest-tier commenter talking about a site that “traded hands” was immediately piled by “I just recommended your site” and “glad they have the free trial” replies: that is a competing-product hijack, not a GirlfriendGPT ownership change. Weight the threads where people paid their own money and got annoyed.

Four years in, then the bugs

On 31 August 2026, someone posted in r/CharacterAIrevolution: “I was like 4 years on Girlfriend GPT because i like the depth but lately, there are more and more Bugs. Can anybody suggest something similar but better?” Four years is 2022, which is before NextDay AI even shows up on the Quebec registry (July 2023). This is a user who stayed through the SpicyChat-sister era, the model menu, the coin meter and the traffic crash, and left because the site started breaking. A reply the next day: “The bug issue with Girlfriend GPT has been a consistent complaint lately so you’re not alone there.”

I could not get a clean list of which bugs. The post itself does not itemise them, and the replies are mostly “try Nomi” and “try Kalon”. What I can say is this matches the Elite buyer’s Android stutter and the 2024 coin-credit tickets. Depth is the reason people stay. Reliability is the reason a four-year user finally asked for an exit. If you are coming from Character.AI or Janitor looking for a huge library, that is still the pitch. If you need the thing to work the same way on Thursday that it did on Monday, test the current build before you buy a year.

Who actually runs this

The footer on every page: “Owned & operated by: NextDay AI Incorporated - 4388 Saint-Denis, Suite 200, Montreal, Quebec, H2J2L1, Canada; NextDay AI USA Inc - 2915 Ogletown Road, Suite 4642, Delaware, 19713, USA; NextDay AI EU Ltd - 2 Poreias, Limassol, 3011, Cyprus.” Section 1 of the Terms of Use repeats it and describes the US and Cyprus companies as “fully owned subsidiaries and agent”. The Quebec business registry lists ProchainJour IA Incorporee / NextDay AI Incorporated, NEQ 1178885712, a federal corporation incorporated on 4 July 2023 and registered in Quebec three days later, with one to five employees declared. LinkedIn describes NextDay AI as a Montreal entertainment-technology company with about 26 staff across seven countries.

The connection that matters: SpicyChat’s terms name the identical three entities at the identical addresses. SpicyChat reports more than 100 million registered users. Girlfriend GPT is a second storefront from that company, which explains the library size, the shared auto-memory the Elite buyer noticed across both sites, and the Discord.

Legal terms: governed by Quebec law, disputes exclusively in Quebec courts, with a class-action waiver and a clause that the company “can be represented in Cyprus, or in Delaware, USA” if your local law applies. No arbitration. Founders aren’t publicly named, which is normal in this niche. Two more clauses worth knowing: the Terms let the company deactivate accounts of “users who neglect to settle relevant charges and/or dispute charges”, so a chargeback can cost you your account and characters; and a bug bounty program is listed in the footer.

First-session walkthrough

Load gptgirlfriend.online and the title is “Best AI Girlfriend Chats - GirlfriendGPT”. The headline copy doesn’t hedge: “Create your own porn AI girlfriend, explore unfiltered AI sex chats, and unleash your wildest fantasies.” Then a Trending Searches strip that, on the day I loaded it, read: futa, sister, slave, step, femboy, wife, cuck, milf, mother, cuckold. That’s the audience, stated by the audience.

The nav is Home, Create Character, Generate Image, Top Creators, Explore More, with a sidebar and a language switcher. The library defaults to For You with an Explore NSFW tab and a tag cloud of roughly ninety entries. Some of those tags (CNC, NTR, Breeding, Chastity) tell you the moderation line is drawn at legality, not taste. The Community Guidelines, updated April 2026, are explicit that underage characters are banned including fictional depictions, with account suspension and NCMEC reporting as the penalty. That’s stricter and more specific than most of the field.

I didn’t hit an age-confirmation modal in the raw HTML; the 18+ requirement lives in the Terms and a footer 2257 statement. Signup is email or Discord or Google. Character creation is prompt-based: you upload an avatar and write the personality, scenario and example dialogue, rather than dragging sliders for hair and body type. Then you open the gear icon in a chat and find the panel that earlier versions of this review didn’t know existed: Personality tuning, Style/Formatting, Voice (Audio and Auto-play marked Deluxe), Immersive Chat Bubbles, Receive calls from Character, Chat Language, a Sexiness slider, and an Advanced section with the in-chat video model (Lite or Pro) and duration (5 or 10 seconds). Most items wear a padlock on the free tier. The Upgrade page wouldn’t load for my automated requests, so the prices in this review come from three independent 2026 tests that agree with each other exactly.

Chat experience and memory

On a paid plan you pick your model. Gem 2.6 is the light Premium default, replacing the earlier Nova, tuned for everyday roleplay and slow-burn pacing, English-first. Quinn III is the Deluxe default: larger, stronger on emotional and character-driven scenes, better in other languages. Blaze XL is the Elite default and the platform’s “next-generation model”. You can pick a higher model on a lower tier, but the context window follows your tier: 4K tokens on Premium, 8K on Deluxe, 16K on Elite. Pick Quinn III on Premium and you still get 4K.

Four thousand tokens is roughly 3,000 words, or a couple of long exchanges. Eight thousand is workable. Sixteen thousand is where “she remembered something from three days ago” starts happening, and it costs $33-50 a month. The platform supplements this with auto-generated memory summaries, which the Elite buyer found “works pretty well” and roughly equivalent to SpicyChat’s and Ourdream’s. So memory is honest here, which I appreciate, and limited, which you should know before you pay for Elite hoping for a companion who remembers your dog’s name. “The option with the good memory is 50 dollars a month lol,” as one Redditor put it.

Prose is the weakness. The quotes in the skip section are the consensus among people who’ve paid: coherent, uncensored, a bit generic, prone to purple filler when you raise the response length. The Sexiness slider works as advertised. The “Receive calls from Character” feature, per the Elite buyer, is “just a dictation thing for the already existing texting LLM”: the character reads its text aloud rather than holding a distinct voice conversation. Kupid does this far better. And as of late 2026, long-time users are also reporting bugs on a platform they otherwise liked for depth, which is a different failure mode from “the writing is mid”.

Image generation

Images live inside the chat and in a standalone generator, and they cost coins: 6 per image on the standard model, reportedly more on the Character Pro model that’s meant to hold a face better. Premium’s 400 coins is about 66 images a month if you do nothing else; Deluxe’s 1,200 is about 200. Independent testers put the hit rate at 70-80% on well-written prompts and rank the output behind Candy on realism and consistency, which matches Reddit: “the image generator is pretty iffy”, “looks different in each picture”. The hentai generator is a separate tool with its own landing page and is, by reputation, the stronger of the two. And there’s the blocked-phrases complaint about skin-colour descriptors, which I couldn’t test from outside but which came from a user with no axe to grind.

Voice and video

Voice unlocks on Deluxe. It’s character-specific inflection rather than one generic narrator, which testers call “a genuine differentiator”, and it costs 2 coins per 100 characters of reply, so a long paragraph is 10-20 coins. Quality gets mixed reviews: “hear her voice that matches her personality” on one hand, “her voice sometimes sounds weird or unnatural” on the other, and one three-month tester placed it “clearly synthetic” and behind Kindroid. Video is short in-chat clips, 5 seconds on Premium and 10 on Deluxe and Elite, with Lite and Pro models on Elite. There are no live video calls, and “calls” from characters are, as noted, text-to-speech over the same chat. My earlier review said voice and video were “advertised but unavailable”. They’re available, metered and modest.

Customization depth

Different kind of depth from Candy or JOI. You don’t get appearance sliders; you describe your character in text, upload an avatar and write their personality and opening scenario, the way you would on SpicyChat or Character.AI. Users who want to “precisely control exactly how she looks” complain about that. What you get instead is a public creator economy: characters can be published, tagged, filtered, ranked on a Top Creators board, and creators get badges. The tag “Original Character (OC)” exists because so many bots are fan or fandom characters. If you enjoy writing bots, this is a better platform for it than any pure companion app.

NSFW behavior and limits

Explicit is the default, the marketing says “porn” in the first sentence, and the Sexiness slider lets you turn it down rather than up. The community-written library means the range of content is whatever tens of thousands of creators uploaded, within Community Guidelines that draw a hard, well-specified line at minors (including fictional depictions) and at non-consensual real-person imagery, and a softer set of nudity standards that read like they were adapted from a social network’s policy. Users describe very few refusals in chat. The image generator is more filtered than the chat, per the skin-colour complaint. Try Girlfriend GPT if the tag list above reads like a menu to you; if it reads like a warning, Candy or Kupid will feel more comfortable.

Mobile experience

The Terms and the Privacy Notice both refer to “the GirlfriendGPT mobile application available through Apple’s App Store or the Google Play Marketplace”, the Terms include Apple- and Google-specific clauses, and the footer has a Download link. I did not verify store listings and I’d be surprised if an app this explicit survives Apple’s review under this brand, so treat the app as unconfirmed. The website works on phones. It’s also where the interface complaints are sharpest: the suggestion box that takes up a third of the screen and the stuttering text rendering were both described on Android. Desktop is the smoother experience.

Pricing analysis

Three paid tiers, monthly or annual, plus coin packs. Three independent 2026 tests agree on every figure.

Coin packs: 300 for $10, 840 for $25, 2,000 for $50. Images 6-10 coins, voice 2 coins per 100 characters. Message credits reset monthly and don’t carry over, per the Terms. Coins from the $50 pack have lifetime validity.

Three profiles:

• Text-only browser on annual Premium: $12 a month, and 5,000 messages is plenty. A genuinely good price for uncensored roleplay with a huge library.
• Images-and-some-voice person on Deluxe: $24.50-35 a month, and 1,200 coins will cover roughly 150 images plus some voice. If you generate daily you’ll top up. Budget $35-50.
• The person Elite is for: unlimited messages, 16K context, 2,000 coins. $33 annual is fair if you’ll actually chat enough to need unlimited; $50 monthly is not.

The third-party consensus and the Reddit consensus converge on $25-50 a month as the realistic spend for someone who uses the media features. “The $15 price is not the real price,” as one quoted user put it after burning 400 coins in eleven days. Same lesson as every other app in this ranking: the subscription buys the chat, the meter sells the extras.

Value vs alternatives

Against Candy AI, Girlfriend GPT wins on library size, model transparency and annual price, loses on image quality, interface polish and companion feel. Against Ourdream AI, which the Elite buyer preferred for “a better, smarter LLM and also a better UI”, Girlfriend GPT loses on prose and wins on fantasy breadth. Against Kupid AI, Kupid has real voice calls and a written no-refund clause; Girlfriend GPT has text-to-speech and a refund section that has actually paid out. Against SpicyChat, its own sibling, SpicyChat has more model choice and a bigger community; Girlfriend GPT adds images, voice and video to the same library. If you’re choosing between the two NextDay sites, that’s the whole difference.

Refund and cancellation reality

Cancellation: the Terms include a Cancellation Policy with two routes. If you paid through CCBill, you cancel on CCBill’s site (sign in, Billing tab, find the subscription, confirm) and access runs to the end of the cycle. If you paid through TrustPay or on the site, you cancel in your account or via support and receive an email confirming the recurring transaction has stopped. Cancelling doesn’t refund the current period.

Refunds: Section 15 of the Terms. “GIRLFRIENDGPT does not offer refunds for subscriptions that have been paid for. However, in certain limited cases, we may be able to offer a refund if we have made a mistake or if there is a technical issue.” Requests “are reviewed and refunded within 14 days”. CCBill purchases are refunded through CCBill under CCBill’s rules. Everything else is “case-by-case”, the company can deny requests it deems “frivolous”, and, unusually, “if a user’s country has a stricter refund policy than GIRLFRIENDGPT’s policy, the user will be entitled to the benefits of the stricter policy”. Combined with the Reddit user who got money back after a bad custom-character result, this is the most workable refund situation in my top five after JOI’s written window. One warning: disputing a charge with your bank is listed as grounds for account deactivation. Ask first.

Safety, privacy and billing discretion

The Privacy Notice, last modified April 13, 2026, is boilerplate with a couple of things worth knowing. Personal data, which it defines to include “the discussions with the AI Companions”, is retained “for as long as your account is in existence” and then “usually for a period of 6 (six) years after you cease being a User”, the same six-year figure Kupid uses and, I suspect, the same template. It lists Google Analytics, advertising networks and search providers as data sources, promises not to sell your data without consent, and gives EU-style access, erasure and withdrawal rights. It contains a stray reference to sharing data “with any company outside Usway”, which is a copy-paste artifact from someone else’s policy and not confidence-inspiring. It says nothing about encryption at rest or in transit, and nothing about whether chats train models.

What it doesn’t have: end-to-end encryption, two-factor authentication, or a named Data Protection Officer. The old version of this review said the privacy policy was only accessible after login; it’s linked from the footer of every page. Billing: two paying users report the statement descriptor as “GGPT”, which is about as discreet as this category gets. CCBill payments will carry CCBill’s own descriptor. Burner email, virtual card, and remember that your “discussions with the AI Companions” are personal data on a Canadian company’s servers for six years after you leave.

Common complaints and patterns
